Late.

Today when I was going to school the impossible happen. The train was late. When I got off at my stop, Gotonda, a train official was standing on the platform handing out this...

A "Late Ticket."

It reads: The station master deeply apologizes for the delay that was caused that in no way was by the passenger but by the Tokyo RailRoad company.

These are given to passengers who then give them to their boss or teacher to verify why they are late.

I have soooooo been slacking with new postings but Im back. I got a whole new line up. School has been good, although I really miss CAU. In the works I might also be going to the Philippines or Vietnam with a couple of my classmates if they crunch the numbers right. Stay tuned.

Change for a yen.

The yen is the currency of Japan. It is the third most-traded currency in the foreign exchange market after United States dollar and the euro. It is also widely used as a reserve currency after the U.S. dollar, the euro and the pound sterling.

Yes We Can?

Do you think this video is offensive or just a parody like SNL skits?

Also while walking through the streets of Shibuya the other night I came across some YES WE CAN for sale.

@ 2:00p

I'm just waking up. I left my window cracked and the cool Tokyo breeze is filling my room. Today I'm either going to go to a fashion show in Ebisu hosted by Vantan Fashion Institute or to Akihabara, "Electric City," where you can find everything from a 42in television to your very own personal robot.

Accident.

Japan has one of the highest suicide rates in the world. The preferred method is by train. When there is a delay because of an "accident" it is most likely a suicide. If the suicide causes to much delay the train company will bill the grieving family accordingly.

Jero.

I woke up this morning to a black young American male on a Japanese morning show. This definitely intrigued me. I started googling "black male Japanese", random, and I found him. His name is Jerome "Jero" White Jr. Interesting story, he is an American who came to Japan in 2003 after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh. He entered into a singing competition and hasn't looked back since. He is the 1st black enka singer and his single "Umiyuki" reached No. 4 on the Japanese charts.
